Surabaya, beritasurabaya.net – PT Mega Buana Teknologi (MBT), an information technology infrastructure solutions provider and a subsidiary of CTI Group, is committed to contributing to the improvement of healthcare governance across Indonesia through the adoption of digital technology to enhance the quality of patient services. Leveraging MBT’s expertise and NetApp’s digital solutions, MBT supports hospitals in delivering better patient experiences and greater convenience in accessing healthcare services.
This was conveyed by MBT CEO, Yuwono Pranata, on the sidelines of a talk show titled “Improving Health Care Operational Efficiency Through Digital Transformation” held at Four Points by Sheraton Surabaya on Wednesday (March 15, 2023).
Along with the accelerated digital transformation journey of healthcare providers in Indonesia, Adir Ginting, Country Manager of NetApp Indonesia, explained that the volume of data generated will continue to grow exponentially. Therefore, it is crucial for healthcare providers to manage data more efficiently, securely, and in real time, enabling them to develop and implement innovative, patient-centric solutions while improving the overall patient experience.
“Through our partnership with Mega Buana Teknologi, we are proud to play a role in helping major healthcare providers and hospitals such as RSUD dr. Iskak Tulungagung modernize and scale their data management systems, ultimately unlocking the full potential of healthcare data,” he added.
Heru Eko Susanto, Sub-Coordinator of Analysis and Monitoring of Services at RSUD dr. Iskak Tulungagung, emphasized that the use of information technology in hospital services and operations is a key strategy to expand public access to healthcare services, improve human resource effectiveness, enhance service quality, and reduce healthcare costs.
“We are very pleased to be part of this event, collaborating with information technology and digital solution providers to discuss innovations and trends in healthcare services. The healthcare industry must undergo business and service transformation by optimizing technology utilization and digitalization to strengthen hospital service governance. We hope that our experience at RSUD dr. Iskak Tulungagung can serve as inspiration for our colleagues from other hospitals,” he stated.
At the end of 2022, RSUD dr. Iskak Tulungagung once again received the Top Digital Award in the Top Digital Implementation category, having achieved the same recognition the previous year. This marks two consecutive awards for the regional public hospital owned by the Tulungagung Regency Government in East Java.
In addition, RSUD dr. Iskak Tulungagung earned a 3-star rating out of 5 in the 2022 BPJS Trust Mark assessment, one of the highest ratings among Regional General Hospitals. This recognition indicates that the hospital’s ICT services implementation complies with standards set by BPJS Kesehatan.
The hospital’s success in leveraging digital technology to improve performance has also been acknowledged by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia (MoH RI). RSUD dr. Iskak Tulungagung received recognition for its healthcare service innovations through improved hospital management systems enabled by optimized digital technology utilization, resulting in more effective and efficient services and enhanced patient experiences. As a result, the MoH RI has designated the hospital as a role model and benchmark for hospital service governance reform initiatives in Indonesia.
At the end of 2021, the MoH RI released the Blueprint for the 2024 Digital Health Transformation Strategy, which identified a major challenge in Indonesia’s healthcare sector: the development of a national health data ecosystem. More than 80 percent of healthcare facilities in Indonesia have yet to adopt digital technology, with data fragmented across hundreds of diverse healthcare applications. According to the Indonesian Hospital Association (PERSI), there are more than 2,450 hospitals nationwide, most of which are independently managed, lack international standardization and accreditation, and still rely on traditional data collection and storage systems.
These conditions pose significant challenges for digital technology solution providers to integrate data across hospitals nationwide. Minister of Health Regulation No. 24 of 2022 on Medical Records mandates that all healthcare facilities must implement Electronic Medical Records (EMR) no later than December 31, 2023. Therefore, all healthcare facilities must prepare themselves in terms of infrastructure and technical readiness to comply with this regulation. (noer soetantini)
