RSUD dr. Iskak Tulungagung in East Java stands out as a success story in digital adoption. The hospital received the Top Digital Implementation Award consecutively two years in a row, reflecting its effective use of information and communication technology to enhance operational performance.
In addition, the hospital earned a three star rating from BPJS Trust Mark, one of the highest recognitions for regional general hospitals, indicating that its digital practices align with national standards. These achievements demonstrate how digital technology can directly support governance, service quality, and patient satisfaction.
The Indonesian Ministry of Health also acknowledged RSUD dr. Iskak Tulungagung’s efforts, highlighting the hospital’s improvements in system efficiency, patient experience, and overall health service delivery through better digital systems. The hospital is now considered a model for healthcare reform and digital transformation initiatives nationwide. This recognition underscores the critical role of digital transformation as part of national health strategy, particularly in improving care effectiveness and operational governance in public hospitals.
“We are very pleased to be part of this event, collaborating with information technology and digital solution providers to discuss various innovations and trends in healthcare services. The healthcare industry must transform its business models and service delivery by optimizing the use of technology and digitalization to improve hospital service governance.
We hope that our experience at RSUD dr. Iskak Tulungagung.
At the end of 2021, the Indonesian Ministry of Health released the Blueprint for the 2024 Digital Health Transformation Strategy, which identified a major challenge in Indonesia’s healthcare sector as the development of a national health data ecosystem. More than 80 percent of healthcare facilities in Indonesia have yet to adopt digital technology, while health data remains fragmented and dispersed across hundreds of different applications within the healthcare sector.
According to a report from the Indonesian Hospital Association (PERSI), there are more than 2,450 hospitals across Indonesia, most of which are still managed independently and have not yet achieved international standardization or accreditation. Many also continue to rely on traditional data collection and storage systems. This situation presents a significant challenge for digital technology service providers seeking to integrate data across hospitals throughout Indonesia.
