SURABAYA — Rapid advancements in digital technology are pushing every industry to adapt, including healthcare. Hospitals are increasingly expected to adopt digital solutions to improve patient services while enhancing efficiency in time, cost, and operational processes.
One hospital that has successfully embraced digital transformation is RSUD dr. Iskak Tulungagung in East Java. The hospital has received multiple government awards for its achievements in leveraging digital technology to improve healthcare services.

Iskak Tulungagung, during a talk show titled The Importance of Digital Transformation in the Healthcare Sector, hosted by PT Mega Buana Teknologi (MBT) and NetApp on Wednesday (15/3).
According to Heru, the healthcare industry must undergo business and service transformation by optimizing technology adoption and digitalization to strengthen hospital governance. He hopes that RSUD dr. Iskak Tulungagung’s experience can inspire other hospitals across Indonesia.
“This transformation strategy helps expand access to healthcare services, improve workforce effectiveness, enhance service quality, and reduce overall healthcare costs,” he added.
Thanks to its digital transformation initiatives, RSUD dr. Iskak Tulungagung has earned several accolades. At the end of 2022, the hospital received the Top Digital Award in the Top Digital Implementation category, following a similar achievement the previous year.
In addition, the hospital was awarded a three-star rating (out of five) in the 2022 BPJS Trust Mark assessment, one of the highest ratings among regional public hospitals. This recognition reflects compliance with ICT service standards set by BPJS Kesehatan.
RSUD dr. Iskak Tulungagung’s success has also been acknowledged by Indonesia’s Ministry of Health for its innovation in delivering more effective and efficient healthcare services through optimized use of digital technology.
Meanwhile, Yuwono Pranata, CEO of PT Mega Buana Teknologi (MBT), expressed appreciation for the hospital’s achievements and reaffirmed MBT’s commitment to supporting improved healthcare governance nationwide through digital innovation.
